Steering Wheel Sensitivity

Out of curiosity, is there any way to increase the sensitivity of the steering wheel? It's hard to explain without gaming terms*...

Right now, I have to rotate the steering wheel a certain amount of degrees (say 120) to get a 90 degree turn. How can I reduce the amount I need to rotate the wheel to get that same turn?

*Gaming terms: Sensitivity feels like it's at a 3 out of 10 in Halo right now. I'd like it at more like a 5, to be comfortable. It's kind of sad that that's the first way I think of it.

lol. Well you could try a steering quickener (they used one in the pikes peak blazer on monster garage.) but it seem like a lot of work just for driver pref. you would only really need it for fast steering reactions like auto cross or rally racing

You can reduce the amount you have to turn by getting a smaller steering wheel.

probably going to be hard to do anything about it. most of the fell you get from the steering is from the rack and pinion. short of swapping it out with something that has a higher or lower gear ratio there isnt much you can do about it.

On older cars with recirculating ball type steering, like on a truck. there are rubber dampers at different places on the steering shaft. These dampers can wear out and cause a lot of play inthe steering. The Camry doesnt have those rubber dampers that I can remeb=meber. They use a universal joint setup for everyhwere the steering shaft has to make a bend. I cant rememerb ever seeing one of those worn but I guess it is a possibilty.

SO to sum it all up I dont think you are going to be able to do anything unless you can find some worn parts in teh steering shaft linkgae ofr if the rack itself is somehow damaged and causing it to fell sloppy.

If you could find a car with a steering rack that has the exact same dimensions and has more of a sproty feel then you could maybe do some kind of swap. The nly car I can even think of that might fit that bill though is a Celica, and that would probably have to be from a mid 90's model.
