1MZ-FE: Vacuum actuator near throttlebody

Got a quick question...does anyone know what the vacuum actuator attached to the throttlebody is for for the 1MZ-FE engine? It has a vacuum line running right from the throttlebody and the actuator is directly bolted onto the throttlebody. I couldn't find anything about it in my manual... just wondering if any of you guys knows what that actuator is used for.

Thanks

When I was installing my vacuum gauge, I was kinda confused too. Too many vac lines on my 3vz. I think I heard from somewhere that it might be for cold starts, or for air conditioning...not really sure. Try asking Gibson99 on CamryMan, I'm pretty sure he'll know after all the work he's done with his supercharger.

Are you refering to the EGR vacuum modulator (the little pod with 2 hoses on one side, and one on the other), or is there another vacuum modulator im not aware of... if not, then like the name states, its for the EGR.

latez.

i think the actuator your talking about is for the ACIS, this is on the left side of the intake plenum.

if its to the left of the TB then its actually the EGR modulator
