Future plans...

Springtime won't come soon enough! I already started making plans for what I'm going to do with my cam next spring. Here's a rough list of what I've got so far:

- Since the left frt. fender is slightly dented in, along with my frt. valence (unfortunate encounter with ramps), I'm replacing both. At that time I'm also having my hood repainted. (Is it me or do these 2nd gen cars have issues with the paint on the hood?)
- Fix small rust problem on RR 1/4 panel (only rust on entire car! It was undercoated at some point and the undercarriage is totally spotless.)
- I have the big, ugly black bumpers the DLX's and DX's were stuck with. I'm going to paint them either satin black or gloss black. I'm leaning more toward satin. I was going to paint them silver (body color) but the paint wouldn't match well at all.)
- Polish the cam cover (tried to last summer but didn't realize what a b**** polishing aluminum is!)
- Bolt up the 15" 2nd gen v6 rims (not that good looking but a cheap way to go plus-one!)
- Amp + subwoofer (my ol' man put them in his 97 T-bird and wow... i gotta get me some of them!) And new frt speakers now that i think of it...
- A tach (even if its a discount auto parts store cheapie)
- Painting interior trim... perhaps a medium blue or silver or white
- Maybe a short shifter, definitely a new boot... the stock one is gay as hell
- TRD emblems for the fenders (I seen some nice carbon-fiber look ones)
- Mudflaps (gotta have 'em... not for looks but for practical reasons)
Maybe... strut bar, whiteline swaybars and bushings, intrax springs, 2jzgte ...
What do you think? Any suggestions?

Of course they don't... not for the gen2 at least. But that doesn't mean that ones made for the 90-91 Celicas won't fit perfectly

87Camry, you wanted suggestions? Here are a few more options (stuff I've done):

PIAA 1400 fog lights
White/clear front turn signals from a 1991 Camry
ES250 Strut tower bar
Sidemarker lights wired as turn signals
Amber bulbs in front parking lights
Red bulbs in guage cluster
5-spoke 16" rims with 205/50/16 tires
Intrax lowering springs w/ Tokico struts
Custom hand machined and clearcoated aluminum shift knob (all myself!)
Whiteline Rear swaybar (awesome mod!)
Whiteline front swaybar
Short ram air intake w/ K&N Filter
Pacesetter 3s-fe header
TWM Performance short-shifter with black Momo boot
Tint all around 50front/35rear
Pioneer CD headunit
3 1/2" Kicker front speakers, 6 1/2" Sony Xplod rear
Brownbread sound deadening on rear doors and trunk (rest of car coming soon)
2 12" Subs driven by an MTX 81000d amp and 1 farad cap
Blue LED lit trunk

Other stuff, coming soon:
ELP Custom CAI (in progress)
Euro clear corner lights (need to be modded to fit)
Blue LED lit interior

And the pictures to prove most of it...

Lowering my car: I did this with the help of 88LE and karma.

Whiteline rear swaybar: I did this myself. Its a challege, but doable.

Sound deadening: This was in preparation for the subwoofer installation. I haven't had any rattles. See the link below for how the trunk with the subwoofer looks now.

Euro clear corners: Pictures from a test fit of the clear corners I got from a guy in Finland. I will need to do some modification before they will fit.

LED lit trunk: Rather than doing neon like everyone else, I thought I would be different. Take a look. I'll be doing the inside of the car soon.

Short shifter: This is a real short shifter, originally intended for a 90-91 Celica made by TWM Performance. It fits perfectly in the 2nd gen Camry. I now have a Momo boot to replace the stock one.

Phew... that is all... though if you are still itching for more pictures, click the link in my signature.

Charlie... thanks a lot man! Wasn't expecting all that! And i really like the idea of wiring the sidemarkers as directionals.

If I can make a suggestion, paint your bumpers, mirrors, door handles and mouldings to match the body colour. It just looks cleaner.

That's a good suggestion. I think the car does look cleaner with most of the black plastic trim painted. I personally plan on shaving the mouldings (and having the indentation smoothed over). I will leave all the chrome chrome though. The black bumpers will not hold paint, so you need to find ones that were painted originally before they bumpers can be painted correctly. That's one of those 'after the engine' things.

Steve, not to put a damper on your plans or nothing. Keep in mind the age of your car. I'm not sure how mechanically sound your car is, but I'd hate to see you dedicate alot of time and money in a project that may not last. Other than that, looks like you'll have a busy spring 8)

Reality check, bud!

Phi... you're right... mechanically the car is in amazing shape for a 15 y.o. car though the body is a bit rough. Little if any rust underneath... it was all undercoated. I might not do the bumpers now but well see... I know of an LS400 for sale by one of my friends parents, its an older one, 90 or 91 i think (Yeah right! In my wildest dreams!) Perhaps I would be wise not to go hogwild on the car... We'll see. Winter hasnt even started yet!
