3rd Generation Do i have a cali spec car?

I think i do, kinda sad How many of you have 2 o2 sensors on your I4? I have one on the manifold and one right after the precat.

Whats going to happen when I get rid of my precat for my downpipe? where should I put the O2 sensors??

DOes your car still ahve hte stickers on the hood that tell what Emissions standard it meets. On the sticker that states engine size and all taht kind of stuff it should say waht standards it meets. IT will say meets all federal standards or California and all states that have adopted their standards.

As for installing the second O2 Sensor you should be able to have your exhaust maker welb some kind of flange in that you can screw the sensor into in the same general area that the old one is with all the precat ad such.

I've got a cali-spec with the 2 o2 sensors.
94 I-4 Jap built.
the sticker underhood should state whether it is cali-spec or not.

someone on another thread said to me that I only needed to put both in my downpipe, since I'd be eliminating the first cat (on the manifold) when/if I go turbo

it doesnt say that in "plain terms" but it does say this car is not to be sold to a permanent residents in california or any state that has adopted cali's standards.

so i dont think so? but i have something thats below the precat? cat temp sensor??

My 93 is federal emissions (Says Federal on the sticker on the hood and has only one 02 sensor). I had it reg in Santa Rosa CA and Santa Barbara CA since 95. It passed smog every time.

sounds like it is a federal car then. it does not meet Cali requirements. which means it should not have been sold in any other state that had adopted those standfards as of the production date. Not sure waht the other sensor you are seeing is though

Are you sure there is another Cat? If so you should have at least 3 O2 sensors.

^^Yo Red just checked mine out. I have 2...the normal one and the one pictured and my sticker says what yours said and also says at the bottom "5sfe Fed-Canada"...so I assume it's a fed spec not cali spec car. Hope this helps.
