Hey "theman".
Is yours a 4 or 6 cyl ? Have you checked your kick-down (downshift) cable for correct adjustment? That could adversly affect youe accelleration if it is not correct.

I autocross my 89 Tercel but with the Paseo engine swap that I have in it, it puts me in a very high class where I really cannot compete against the likes of Turbo Miatas, Mini Cooper S and BMW M3s, all highly modified.

I am thinking about running my V6 Wagon, but the tranny is slipping. I have a tranny that I rebuilt myself, sitting in my garage but just haven't gotten around to swapping it out yet. In the mean time I am thinknig about giong to a 5 spd but am having a hard time finding what I need in local junk yards.

There is one guy that I have seen at the last meet running a GEN 3 that I believe to be an automatic, I4. He did ok, placed 3 out of 5 in his class.

I am just wondering if anybody does run their Camry in autocross, what kinds of set-up they have and how they are doing?

2nd Generation

Check to see if there is a local Sports Car Club in your area or a chapter of the SCCA.
Those are the groups that usually put things like that on.

It had been happening in my area for a long time and I never knew about it until early last year when a coworker of mine told me about a meet happening at the Colisseum Parking lot near where I live. That was it. I've been hooked. It is almost as much fun as sex. You get to drive as fast as you can, (which is usually only 35-40 mph) and no worry about cops. Just your tires and clutch.
