V6 camry head

How well does a v6 camry head on a 93 flow? I have been considering port and polishing my head minimumly. We did my friends neon and everything went well and there was a significant increase in performance. From the butt dyno that is. lol....do you think that it is worth pnping my car?
It also took 4 tenths of my friends et.

I've heard conflicting things about port and polishing. in a recent magazine article they had a feature on it and sr20det's and evo motors (both 2L) were getting an extra 20hp with no boost. so i rang up a mjor workshop here in sydney and the guy reckoned just doing port and polish will not do anything and you need to reduce restriction and increase airflow across the whole length from the filter to the throttle body to the heads etc, then he said something about a new ecu.

Thanks guys, I have not deciede if i am going to tackle the job yet or not. I just was looking at my engine last night and realized that it is going to be alsot more work getting at the heads in my car then the inline 4 but that is expected. Time will tell. Thanks again.

You know, someone from SC3 website has already done this, and he is selling the ported heads... He lives in Portland.

He guarantees 300+ hp WITH supercharger.

you never want to polish the intake valves, just port them. basically you only want to port AND polish the exhaust side.

the reason being is in order for the fuel to mix correctly with the incoming air, a certain amount of turbulence needs to be created. if your intake side is too smooth, the gas beads up and you actually lose power. getting the exhaust as clean and smooth as possible will yield significant gains though...

as for the 3vz flowing well, i have heard rumor that it is a high flow head. this is why doing a 3vz/5vz hybrid is worth it. you take the nice big disp of the 5vz and use the high flow 3vz head. basically like a stroker kit. problem is the 5vz is a transverse, meant for RWD cars..... can anybody say RWD camry??? lol j/k
