I should aready do that when you hit the unlock button im thinking, theres probably alot of bullshit involved.... umm do any lights come on when you unlock it? if so maybe you can run a while from that light to your dome light and do it that way.

how torewire dome light

Is this a toyota factory wired keyless entry system?
If the dome light is *supposed* to come on when you use your keyless entry, and just does not work- you will need to troubleshoot thst system possibly with the help of the electrical service manual for your car.
If this is an aftermarket system-are you sure it is hooked up properly?(the installer may have left some wires out) you will need to troubleshoot it using it's own manual.
BTW most recent(last 5-10years)aftermarket decent alarm systems provide this function.
If if this is a new function that you want add, this could get really involved-depending on your car.
If you want more info post back and I'll try to describe what I *think* you'll have to do, based on *my understanding* of how this system works in a 2003 camry equiped with factory wired keyless entry system.

on many keyless entry systems there is an output for the dome light... i would look into finding the install guide for your system and looking in there.

I'm using 3 different Audiovox Prestige alarm systems. Models APS 300-R, APS 600, and APS 610.
ALL 3 have that feature.

In all 3 models that I mentioned in my previous post, 2 DARK GREEN with WHITE trace provide this function. If yours is one of those models(or similar)...
I'll quote from one of the installation manuals:-
"ENTRY ILLUMINATION."
"The dark green w/white trace wires provide the entry lighting, and flash the dome light while the alarm is sounding.
These are the N.O.(Normally Open) and COMMON contacts of an onboard 10A(max) relay.
Connect one of the DARK GREEN w/WHITE trace wires to the switched output of one of the doors pin switches.
Connect the other wire to either chassis ground(GM and most imports)or a fused +12v battery source (most FORDs), depending upon the polarity of the dome light circuit in the vehicle.
NOTE: When wiring this feature in vehicles with factory equipped delay lighting circuits, it is best to connect to the output of the timer which feeds the dome light , rather than at the door switch. This will ensure that the dome light pulses when the alarm is triggered".
In my cars I hooked one wire to the door switch, the other wire to ground.
But why not go back to the installer?, you paid him to hook it up, if your alarm unit can provide this feature make him hook it up.
