2nd Generation 9004 100/80W safe ?

well my dumbass went and bought some 9004 100/80W headlights since my old one blew out..once i got home and found out i should of gotten the 65/45W ones and since they don't have refunds/exchange on headlights where i bought em at. think it's safe to use them or should i shell out more $ and buy the correct ones ? i don't want melted harness or anything

I would think they're unsafe. If you really want to use the bulbs, wire your own harness.

It is unsafe to use them, over time they will melt you wireing harnest. Its like connecting a garden hose to figher truck, WAY too much flow and not enough room. The hose explodes, you wire heat up and melt (fire hazard)

Melting stuff is fun.

You have three options here.

1. Buy new bulbs for $10-$20
2. Buy a new wiring harness to support the upgraded bulbs for ~$60 off a site like suvlights
3. Build your own wiring harness for $20, assuming you have a soldering iron.
