4th Generation knock sensor problems

Anyone out there having a solution to their blown knock sensors? I'm considering the ATS racing Knock Sensor or re-wiring bank 2 to the bank 1 sensor. Which solution do you recommend?

I still have not resolved mine yet either.

Trying to avoid spending 125$ X2 on some new ones.

Pulled the top off of the motor and found that the entire valley the sensors sit in, was at one time filled with water. Tons of rust and scale inside. pulled the sensors out, cleaned them off, tested them. No short to ground, but the connectors were in quite poor shape, so I fixed those up. Tested the circuit between the sensors and the comp, and there was good continuity, but the sensor connector at the computer was grounded out. I thought that did not sound right, so today I replaced the computer.

Still pops a code 52. Extremely frustrating!!! Next plan is to buy 1 sensor wire the 2 together and call it good. There's a thread on here somewhere about doing it, i'll drop a link to it when I find it.

I would say that if you're doing it yourself, then you may as well try wiring them both to one sensor, and relocate them while you're at it.

if you make sure that you're running high octane gas and you have your a/f set up with proper boost, then you shouldn't have to worry about knocking or pinging anyway

one suggested place in the past is relocating the knock sensor to the front engine lift hook- it'll still get vibrations if they are extreme, and yet it won't be as sensitive as on the block

did you ever hit the dyno after you got your headers/y-pipe/exhaust setup? I know you got it tuned after...

Is it as simple as just wiring the two clear wires together and connecting it to the knock sensor???

drducttape: The code I'm getting is P0330 (Bank 2 Knock sensor). Have you hear of the ATS knock senor? The link is www.atsracing.net - look under knock sensor.

Kingston: As for your question, I never did get a chance to dyno it after my y-pipe mod, but it was running just fine.

My knock sensor malfunctioned in November when I put in some bad gas. I've been driving with the CEL for about 2 months now. I'm just waiting for my larger injectors before I change out my knock sensor.

I'm positive that they will screw into the block with their provided adapter, but you will have to snip your old electrical connector off, and install the supplied one to make it work.

Drove by the place about an hour ago, looks like a hole in the wall, but those tend to be the best places around.

I got a call back from ATS and they say their ATS knock sensor is only good for the MR2.

Merging the two signals from one sensor works fine.

I relocated mine but i dont recommend it unless you are sure of your tuning on the car.

^ I was thinking of doing that. Where exactly did you relocate them? What parts do I need?
