4th Generation Rims suggestions

I am finally planning to get new rims in the next month or two. i was thinking of getting 18's x 7.5, 45mm offset, 225/40/18 Nankang NS-2 tires. in addition, my car's lowered 1.2" (Eibach) w/the Tokico struts. mine's a gen4.5 (00').

will any rubbing occur? should i get a 35mm offset instead? i drive a lot on common roads and highways, but i've found out that most Camry owners have 17s . any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

no, your offset should be fine - 42-45 is what most of us have with 18x7.5s

and no- no rubbing

but potentially, it also depends on the design of the rim itself if it is an extreme design

4th Generation

I have 18X8 OZ wheels and 225/40 18 Bridgstone Potenzas, there is slight rear fender rubbing but not bad at all. I am trying to get the offset, I think its 40-42 mm from the OZ website, my wheels look like the supperlegg's. The ride is abit rough on bumpy roads, I was wondering if 17's would be smoother without giving up alot of handling feel in corners.

that would depend on the tyres really =) tyres soak the small bumps, suspension soaks the big ones.

Rims/Tire

That is exactly (225/40 18 and 18x7.5 with a 45mm offset) what I have/had on both a 99 Camry and 01 Solara, both dropped with TRD suspension, both V6's and it was/is a perfect fit. I was thinking 18x8 with a 40mm (exact) offset shouldn't cause you problems but a 225 sits fine on a 7.5 as it does on an 8. I would personally go with a better brand tire. I myself have had Pirelli P7000 Supersports and now have Yokohama Avid H4's which both hold up well and never had a problem with bubbling. Also the Yoko come with a 60k treadwear warranty and a ridiculously high treadwear rating (which is a good thing). Jon. p.s. 17" are too small.

yeah, 17s are too small on our cars....18s are perfect, but not exactly the most comfortable ride at times....

and fox_prime --> yup...it's 12x1.5
