3rd Generation Front 6.5's

I was wondering if a bracket would need to be made if were replacing the 6.5's in teh front doors of a gen 3 camry. im putting in Pioneer TS-G164OR's if that is any help

The Gen3 6.5's are a weird size...like the holes never line up to the standard holes. I bought some European fit Cerwin Wega's and they fit somewhat fine. The best thing to do is just remove the bracket and give it a try. If it doesn't fit, make/buy the bracket.

^^ basically, it'll come down to what brand speakers you buy- some will fit, and some will not

and some- the ones that you usually pay more for - will come with a number of brackets that will fit allow their speakers to fit a whole range of cars, and one will more than likely fit the toyota 6.5

my jbl powerseries 6.5s came with 3 different brackets, and I found one that fit

Trace the stock speaker on a piece of 1/2 inch plywood, or similar material. That will be your "adaptor". Then cut the center to fit your new speaker. Easy.
