2nd Generation How much can I lower without rubbing?!?!?

currently I have 205/40/17 tires on a 7.5 wide rim. how much can I lower my 91 camry without ANY rubbing. intrax only offers 1.5 drop in front and rear. Has anyone done 2" on a gen2 ?? please post pics anyone, thanks. Could I also buy the 4 kyb gr2 struts and just have the springs heated and compressed 2 inches?? I really need some help. I appriciate any help.

get something better then GR2's if youre going lower then 1". the gr2's arent designed for mucho lowering (hence warranty void over 1" drop).

thats a nice sidewall stretch on the tyre and as long as the offset looks good (im thinking you got the thinner tyre because the wheels are too wide or the offset is off) you should be able to go to the bumpstops no probs (height wise).

put a bunch of bricks in the boot and see how low you can go.

Ive got 215/40/17 tyres on 17x7+38 rims. Lowered it down so that the guard is JUST over the tyre at the rear and on the front is about 2 fingers above the tyre (it was lower, but after the manual convo..well..it sorta raised up a bit ) and it has no rubbing issues at all. Looks the shizzle too hehe!

If you're going to lower it right, get yourself proper lowering springs.

Modifying the factory spec springs affects the load capacity, which then puts added stress on your suspension and your chassis.

Investing in a set of Intrax or B&G springs would be the better choice.
