Gen5 front brakes

what's up everybody, i just changed the front brake pads(akebono) on my ride. first of all just wanted to say thanks to DIY brake threads, they are really usefull. they are pretty easy to change. i think the hardest part is loosen the four bolts. it's pain in @ss. i don't know if this is normal, i found that the passenger side brake pads are thiner than the driver side. the passenger side is almost gone but driver side looked still good for 1k miles. just wanted know if this happen to anyone.

it shouldn't really happen on such a new car, but that could be a sign of a sejzed slider bolt, or maybe you have a bad alignment that makes your car pull to one side when braking

Exclamation

FWIW, back in the day they used to say that passenger side brake pads/shoes always wore out faster than driver side pads/shoes.

They said it was because the passenger side wheels were closer to the road shoulder, where dirt and sand hang out.

^^
I heard that a long time ago too but I never to is seriously. I suppose it could be depending on the consistancy of the road?

There could also be a slight variation in the density of the pads(not enough to cause alarm) but just enough to give you 1000 miles of difference. I'd most likley start with checking your slide pins and lubrication. Go from there.
