Gen5 rear sway...

i know that this topic has been discussed many times. the rear creaking noise experienced after installing a rear sway bar on the gen5. i got mine installed about september or so. bought the sway from the dealer and got them to install it as i did not trust my self.

since then, it has been making noises when i go over bumps and such. the forum told me get the bushings relubricated and that was done. it worked for a couple of weeks and the noise came back. i hear it more on colder days...i bring it back...theyexperience it and relubricate it..now i hear it again, this time...more faint and more intermitant than before.
my question is...can the sound be recreated without driving the vehicle through bumps?
is there a particular grease i should as them to use?

The bushings are flush around the bar, so to get anything in there, yes, you do need to take them off. Should be a very simple job, just unbolt the brackets, pull the bushings off, lube, and re-assemble. You don't need to bother with end-links or trying to slide the bar in and out.

i am assuming that they are tight..
bringing it to the dealer for other work tomorro..new radio and check on intake manifold...
will ask them about the sway bar as well....my sway is on the stiffest setting...
did not notice much difference until i took a winter car control school...although body roll is still present...it has decreased and as such..i did feel that the car was more responsive to cornering. i guess i will see how it goes tomorro.

Lube them. You should lube them periodically. Moving parts can't stay lubed forever. This next time I do it would be my third. I have the bar set at the most aggressive setting.
