cluster swap

my 88 Camry has the cluster without the tach. and i found some clusters on ebay that has the tach. so i was wondering if its a direct swap as far as the wiring harnesses go. and how would i go buy hooking up the tach. any help would be appreciated.

Yeah I have heard that it is a direct swap wiring and all. I know they all have pretty much the same harness. I suppose you are talking abut the 4 cyl. Check this out: http://toyotanation.com/forum/t99338.html they have a pic there for the place to connect the tach.

Just make sure you get the cluster from a car with the same engine (4-cyl to 4-cyl, V6 to V6). The V6 tach won't read correctly on a 4-cyl and vice versa.

The 4-cyl redlines at 6000 RPM. V6 redlines at 6700 RPM. The speedos on the V6 cars go up a little higher also (to 150 MPH).
