Ok, welp my amp instalation is going as planned. 4-5 Hours of work put in today. But i cannot find a place to run the 4 Gauge wire from the engine bay to the trunk. I drive a 1996 Cam 5S-FE.
Sofar what has been done.
-- Removed Rear Trim/Deck/Seat
-- Removed Driver Side Trim to route wires
-- Removed driver side trim around the hood latch
-- New Speakers were already installed last week by me, just needs new wireing so i can get them out no prob in say an hour and have em wired up.
-- Took 3 hours to figure out a way to splice/replace and 2 trips to radio shack bc the rep there is a tard and sold me the wrong gauge wire. (He gave me 8 Gauge, when i needed 10 Gauge auto wire)
its now 5:39 Eastern time and it is 21 Degrees outside, so there is no way in hell i am doing any more work tonight, il wake up early and finish up mounting the amp, running wires. All the grunt work has been done sofar.
Oh the question still remains, How do i run the power wire to the amp? (What hole in firewall? or should i drill?)
-- edited to post that i did use the search button, and i only came upon a 1998-200x Question, dosent help us with the 96 VX10 Chassis.
well the way i did it in my gen 5.5 camry is that u know the doors, u know how on the floor is the carpet and the carpet is connected to the plastic thing,,rip oopen the plastic thing and run the wires under the carpet,,do this threw the passenger side,,ur going to have to rip open the belt covers and rear carpet covers to get the wire under, i personnaly think this is that best way because ur wire stays outta the way and it lookz much more professional
No need to drill. There's a nice hole in your engine bay towards the rear right above the driver's side fender well where the stock wiring harness runs through. I ran my 4 gauge wire through there. Remove the driver's side fender well plastic to do this. Then cut a small hole in the rubber that encloses the stock wiring harness, and run it through into the driver's side trim around the hood latch. After that, just run it along the driver's side trim all the way to the rear.

don't forget for the gen 3 and 3.5 there is an opening through the fender (driver's side)
the way to go about it is to find where the cable for the hood release is if you follow that back into the cabin you'll find a nice place to get your wiring through.
you'll have to remove the left front wheel and fender well cover to get access from underneath.
1.. if your engine bay was a square, it would be the top right corner.
2.. there is an opening with a white colored plastic on it
3.. tuck it in through there follow the hood latch cable and you won't go wrong.
4. you'll have cut through the rubber grommet that's between the engine fender well and the inner drivers foot well.
the good side to this is when you're in, you can automatically run through the left side of the cabin uner the plastic covers

Brake lights aren't broken, I just don't brake.
--Can honestly go to a parts counter and ask for brake shoes for the front brakes.
--Likes long walks on the beach.... once it's lit by a massive bonfire.
Only problem with this is i currently dont have access to a 2 Ton Jack. :P I know i know "Use the emergency Jack!" heh, ive had one of those collapse on me, i dun trust em :P. Il prolly ask my friend Sal to come over and help me do this, its gunna be a B!tch :P
Oh and i know exactly what you are talking about. The white grommet right near the break booster.
very simple method, no drilling and least amount of work i found...:
1. from battery (if your looking atthe engine) run wire along the right straight to the back firewall, there will be a small ledge there perfect for amp wiring, run the wire to the left side until the hinge for the hood. There willl be a hole just large enough for 4 guage wire...i know, mine is 4 guage and is snug, use a wire hanger if you have problems....that will run it through to the door. open the passenger door and run it behind the metal hinges and staright down, this will not interfere with anything. now you have two options:
a. run it along, under the door's plastic protector things and under the carper inbetween doors then up along, underneath the back seat
b. stuff it in the underside of where the glove compartment is and run it to the passenger side of the middle console, now run it underneath the plastic middle consol pieces, after you pass all the middle console get a knife and make a small slit where the carpet meets the wire, you have room to play so the plastic covers it, then take off the back seat and pull of the carpet as much as possible and use a metal snake to get to the otherside where the slit is.
personally i used option A for power and option B for RCA's, that way no interference is a problem but you can do it however if you sheild properly

The heck do you need a jack for? I did all the work listed above without jacking up my car.
Hmm thanks for the positive response. Seems easier than i thought than. The driver side fender well isnt that hard to remove than? Il take a look tomorrow.
Once again thanks for all the help guys. Oh and the setup will be
Should sound pretty nice in a cam if you ask me Being powered by the headunit sofar and have incurred no problems besides owning other peoples high end soundsystems with it.
Headunit is a Pioneer DEH-7700MP
And to ag6286 Il be using Option A For Power (Using Sheilded Wire) and Option A For Speaker wire/power to the Driver Side Speaker.
Well here's my two cents after having done my system. It's wired with 4 guage wiring for a 2500watt rockford fosgate amp.
Well wut I did was drill a whole in the firewall for the amp wire, right on the firewall. behind the intake. I ran the wire down from there and under the molding/carpet, under the seat to the trunk. That's your best bet.
