im not sure where to put this, but what happens if you hit a deer on the highway and kill it? do you have to call the cops or something? will the cops give you a fine?
If you kill it, you are alloud to keep it and eat the meat. Otherwise you should call the cops. There shouldn't be a fine, unless you killed it doing 100MPH, but this way they can get a road crew out to clean things up.

^ Yeah, when iw as in Colorado, our van hit a dear at 60mph and killed it. wasnt too bloddy, but cops said if we wanted we could keep it or have someone come down and clean up the mess.
In tennessee they jsut passed a law a couple of years ago letting you keep road kill. IF you hit it and you were obeying traffic laws, how do they know anyway, then you should call and at least get some kind of police report to give to insurance company. And like others said if it is in the road they need to be notified so noone else hits it.
