Hey there everyone. I have 2 questions, my stupid ass f*cking friend reved my car to what looked like 7krpm for a breif second. Should i be worried of anything? Also how much longer do brakes last after they begin to start squeaking? Thnx for any replies and merry christmas all.

i wouldn`t worry about the engine, i remember someone was trying to kill an engine and it took him a few outings to kill it

as for the breaks, well you should change the pads, or else you`ll start damaging the rotors, and rotors cost big bucks (as my father recently learned)

check the pads first though, if they have less then 1/8th of an inch of brake pad stuff, replace them, sometimes brakes just squeak

One time that I was driving my car hard.. I over revved my engine about 100 rpm on the gauge.. and I was like.. :o nothing happened though and the car is still good! another thing too, my 86 civic has no RPM gauge.. and I used to drive it hard without knowing if I over revved or not.. 350,000km baby!! and counting!
you should be ok.. just don't do it too often.

depends where you live i guess.. some places in my area do it for about $90CDN for front OR back that's them putting parts and labor though.. if you bring your own pads, usually about $50CDN(or less if you got a hook-up ). dunno how they do it in your area.
