3rd Generation Please help.spark plug tube o rings stuck

Well i got to both valve cover and when i was taking the spark plug tube o rings only the inner rubber/plastic colud go out, The rest of it(the oring wall) is stuck to the valve cover. When i try to pry it out with a flat head screw driver only vry small pices come off. Can any tell me how to get them off without damging the covers? Oh and i noticed that the rea cover's oil was red and the front cover oil was mostly brown with black stuff all over it.(no sludge)
Thanks.

i pulled up the little tabs on the side holding it in and then ripped them out, when i put them back in it closed the tabs back using a large socket.

and broke 3 vlave cover bolts in the back >.>

yes, they're good

and it's still good practice to gap them to spec, though they tell you you don't have to

you dont gap them. iridiums are a bit excessive for a NA engine dont you think? to help with the problem in the future, throw some dielectric lube goop on the inside of the boots/outside of hte plugs. you can get it from wherever you got the plugs for like $.50 or something.

i srewed up on the new orings, When i installed the new ones and it was time to put it back on i noticed that they were backwards so i too them out by prying them from the bottom. so then i put them back but when i used something to put it back i hit it with a hammer and some alunimum tube thing so i kind of ripped one and put rtv on the whole round thing to prevent it from leaking. I hope it does't leak. If they were availavle at the auto store i would of gone and picked up a new set but they are a special order. Now going to continue putting ther rest back which is almost everythig ecept the valve covers.

im done and started it up. so far no leaks. When i first started it up the idle speed was 1900 rpm(cold), about 100 more than usual, but then it settled to normal rpm after a few minuits. I also niticed that my idle speed when fully warmed and in reverse was 800 again 100 less than normal. But then after just afew miles it went to normal. Also when i disconnected the throttle body there was to lowe hoses that flowes antifreeze in it. Does that the termine the idle speed depending on the cooant water?
