Hissing is air, so look for loose, cracked, dried out, split or disconnected or missing vacuum/air hoses.

The crackling sound may by a CV joint. Look at the rubber boots on the shafts going to both wheels. Look for leaking grease and torn rubber boots.

Hissing could be disconected vacuum hose. It is also possible youare hearing the air coming through the air filter box. Camry's are notoriously loud about this. Open the hood and try to figure out where the noise is coming from. I would think if it was a vacuum hose though you would be having some driveability issues. High/low idle, rough running or some other things like that.

The knocking noise when turning is most likely the CV axle. THe boot has broken and all of the grease in the boot that lubricates the joint is gone. NOw it is time to replace the axle. If you can do it yourself you are probably looking at 200 dollars or less for the part. If you ahve to have it done probably getting into the 300 dollar range.

Knocking when applying brakes is either warped rotors or drums. when you hear the noise do you also fel vibration in the steering wheel, if so it is most likely the rotors that need to either be replaced or machined. If you fell it more in the pedal or the seat of the car it is most likely the drums and the same thing you need to either replace or machine them.

should work but 50 bucks for an axle seems awfully cheap. If you get it make sure they are going to stand behind the warranty they give you on it.

axle cost, including repair at a shop for the passenger should cost no more than $200.

axle cost for the driver side should be no more than $240.

it is always better to replace your axle instead of just the CV boot because if its cracking, the axle itself may be damaged already, plus its only a $40 difference (average) between CV Boot repair/replace and axle replacement.

I think I might have the same problem on my car. Stupid snow and potholes. I replace axles almost every other year.

Sometimes the loud noise coming from the power steering is the result of low fluid. I'd try adding some first. even IF IT LOOKS FULL TRY ADDING SOME fluid. The level stays high and goes down as you add more fluid. I dunno why. Same for the Brake fluid resevoir.

I am very sure mine is not related to the power steering because it only happens when I slow down.

The funny thing that the harder I slow down, the faster the ticking is (so it's obviously not related to the tire rotation speed).

I will check my brake fluid though.
