Why I love Toyota engines

Ok I finally got the time to take the head, rods and pistons out of my car(going to replace the rings and rod bearings along with putting on a mild built head(TRD valve springs, stainless steel intake valves, 3 angle valve job, port and polish ports, milled .002" head surface, TRD metal head gasket, polished intake manifold ports, polished header ports along with putting on an oil cooler from a 5sfe engine). I was looking at the cylinders and after 167K miles on the engine the cross hatches are still on the cylinder walls. I was very impressed by that. The only major wear(other than normal wear) was that the number 1 cylinder rod bearings had some metal broke off of the bearing which explains my rod knock I had but the crank is fine so now I am waiting on parts(will be here thrusday because toyota wharehouse is closed tuesday and wednsday) and also when I go up to work on monday I am going to clean all the pistons, rods and move all the parts I need from the old head to the new head. But I probably wont be done for a while because next weekend I can only work on sunday because sat I get to see my college basketball team(KU) play so maybe the weekend after that I will be totally finished with this and I can see how my upgrades perform.

Well it isn't costing me that much since I am doing all the labor and the only thing I didn't do myself on the head was get it milled. The parts altogther cost me about 300 which includes, TRD valve springs, stainless steel valves, Toyota head gasket set, TRD metal head gasket, Toyota piston rings and Toyota rod bearings. For most other people it will cost them more for parts but my dad is the parts manager at a toyota dealership and I am a tech there when not in school so I get a pretty good discount.
