are you SURE its yours now? because youre gonna be doing serious work for it.

the 3 most serious but realistic upgrades are:

5 spd manual swap ~$1000
supercharger/turbocharger ~$2500-3000
and the quick and dirty option, nitrous. ~$700

if you cant deal with the downtime/cost you might just wanna go for a show look, dress up, kits/wheels etc.

the preferred one?

E153-73x where x is 2, 3, 4 or 5

there are 4 models, 2 open, 2 lsd, with different pinion counts

2 2 pinion open
3 2 pinion lsd
4 4 pinion open
5 4 pinion lsd

there is no way youre going to find a 735 =)

Man I was once in the same boat as you. I had a bone stock 97 i4 automatic Camry and no car knowledge. I learned everything I could and I swapped to a 5 speed (S51) and shorteden the shifter, made a clutch hardline, installed an ACT upgraded clutch, remover the engine balance shafts, installed an unorthodox underdrive pulley, I lowered it 1.8 inches on Tein s-tech springs, tokico struts, added 18 inch konig wheels, Added clear corners, intake, redid the whole interior, shaved emblems, pinstripes, mudguards, added 4 twelves in the trunk, redid the gauges in blue, all the lights, added a hideaway liscense plate, deleted the air conditionig and now my new goal is turbo, I have made a downpipe and cutom fittings so far, autometer gauges in an a-pillar I made, supra injectors, fpr, fp, intercooler, bov, added a wideband o2 setup, the list goes on and on. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...grounds003.jpg
I would recommend the five speed swap highly, I can walk you through every step and answer every single question you would have. Good luck!
