idle adjustment

My idle speed is way too low (600) and it stalls and/or idle rough from time to time. How do I adjust the idle speed on a 97 camry 2.2L?? Do I need to replace the idle control valve or what??

check your throttle body/link area...there should be a screw that stops the throttle valve from shutting completely closed....
BUT.....before you do that!!!!
check ALL your spark plugs and check for any wear or oil etc etc....so far every car i checked with low idle, the spark plug was always the problem.

idle adjustment

thanks for the advice. I just put in new spark plugs, the old ones were fine. Checked the wires and they are fine too. I'm thinking that I have a leak in one of the vaccuum hoses since the needle likes to move around. Let me know your thoughts.
