gen. 4.5 jdm taillights?

ive already seen two sets! gimme gimme! they are gen. 4.5 taillights with

the signal clear. these look clean! they dont look like clear taillights that

were painted with spray. just red and white. clean! where? how? anybody

feel me on this one?

The description of the product says they're for '00-'01, but they look like they'd fit '97-'99 :-?

actually...I just remembered, the outter pcs are the same for both Gen4 and 4.5

Phi, they are NOT the same. It will only work if you a) replace the rear bumper with a Gen4.5 one, or b) modify your Gen4 one to fit. Besides, they will be too clear looking compared to the opague ones on the trunk. I don't like them, rather keep the orange or just red the clear/orange out.

Apparently the outer piece is swappable (hearsay). Somebody here has claimed to have done it with pics to prove (I forgot who). I know the inner pcs are in-compatible though. I just talking about the outer pcs.

yes they look good by themselves, but when they are on the car, the clear part is way too clear compared with the stock 00-01 inner tails. It looks dumb..

Paint the inner tail lights to match the car! I did this on my 99 and it looks much better.

The only guy I remember who had it done was XLEV6 from Wisconsin. He was actually rearended by someone, so instead of just getting the Gen4, he got the Gen4.5 outer pieces (not clear) and bumper from insurance. He had the beige Gen4 with 17" Gunmetal rims before.

2001? they both look pretty clear to me. btw they only sell the outer pcs.

I think they're talking about Gen4 not matching. Gen4.5 lenses are more clear and reflective. I really hope you don't spend your hard earned money on these things. It's your money and your choice though.

Yep. Gen4.5's are multi-reflector lights and the lenses are more clear. Gen4.0's aren't quite as clear and it'll be particularly noticable if you pair these up with the inner tails (on the trunk lid) of a 97-99.

I'd prolly only buy them if I had to replace the rear tails already... otherwise, the price is generally pretty high for two small light housings. :o
