Need Help regarding my Brakes

Hey guys,

I need to replace my brake pads i'm pretty sure. I've noticed when I brake, the car tends to shake a little, and i've had the car for around 60,000 miles without changing brakes.

I have a 98 4 cylinder camry, how would I go about replacing my brakes, and what brake pads do you guys recommend? I've heard that the TRD pads get a lot of dust, the factory brake pads should be fine?

Danny

Yeah

OEM pads should be sufficient.

Agree with Sky'. Get your rotors checked to see if they are the cause of that shaking you're experiencing

I noticed the same shaking problem on my sisters camry. The dealer said that the rotors were a little warped and that was causing the shaking. He said it was common (?) in camrys. I also notice the same problem in my camry as well. :x

EBC pads are nice and they don't give off much dust at all. OEM pads are cool for regular driving but if you drive a little harder than the majority then step up to some quality aftermarket pads. If your rotors are a little warped then you can have them machined, if they're very warped then you gotta replace them.

The best pads I've ever had on my car have been ceramic... no dust, they last longer, and quiet.

KVR and Porterfields have little dust for keeping your 18's clean, but they are also expensive. The porters are on the order of 100US for front and rear pads.

i agree with the others that shaking brakes usually points to a warped rotor. driving through a big puddle after using your brakes is all it takes to warp them some times.

It's not too bad if you can do it yourself or you know someone. I had a friend help me put the pads on then went and got my rotors shaved. Pads were around $70 and the brake place charged me like $40. Not too bad. And like I said they're the best pads I've ever tried. I had OEM ones put on when I first got the car and they made soo much noise I changed them after one month.
