I was replacing my rear rotors today and went to adjust my parking brake, when I noticed that the pads are worn to basically nothing. So I call up Toyota and the parts department guy told me new pads were $25 a piece, not per side, but per shoe. (Only reason for calling Toyota was no one else near me has them) So I was wondering does anyone know of where I can get these pads, either a local store (Cleve. OH) or online?
thanks, matt
p.s. the car is a 1993 Camry SE with rear discs, if that helps...
Also does anyone know how to adjust the parking brake(not the cable inside, but the actually adjuster on the pads) because when I do it without the rotor on, its hard to get on, but with the rotor on, there is no access to them (no rubber stopper in back). Thanks Again!
yeah....that price sounds about right- I was told 30cnd per pad, so I haven't changed mine yet
and what kind of rotors do you have in the rear?
the rotors are supposed to have a little slit where you can tighten/loosen the parking brake with a screwdriver for installing/uninstalling the rotors
unfortunately, I don't think there's any other place that carries the emergency shoes- or at least I haven't been able to find any place

They have sets for less than you've been quoted for each pad; and they're brand names. If you're unsure about the part being correct, email their customer service address and they'll reply the next day (they've actually sent me product pictures before so I was sure I had it right).
Give'em a try, I've been really happy with them. And no, I don't work for them!

You could also try some local companies. I know here in the Nashville, TN area there is a company that is calle ABC BRake. THey are a mobile brake company. THey have vans fully stocked with pads, lathe, springs, and other hardware. Alot of repair shops around here use them because they can get some really oddball stuff and they will turn your rotors for you. You may look in the phone book for a company similar to this one.

wow...that's a pretty good find...how's their shipping charges?
and I couldn't find any shoes for emergency brake, or at least not specified for it, unless their description like this:
WAGNER Part # Z528
Rear; 9 x 1-37/64" Brake {QuickStop Brake Shoes - Bonded}
means it...
huh...I want some new brake shoes too

^^ Their shipping is okay, a lot better if you can ship to NY state and go pick them up (saves me approx. $20/package to cross the border into MN and do this up here).
I don't have the same set-up as you guys, my e-brake acts directly on the rear calipers--one rotor only, thank you! But as I mentioned above, email their cust service dept to clarify whether or not the product you've found is the right one. They're always very helpful.
