Flanged O2 Sensors

I have a '96 Camry w/ 2.2L 4cyl and I'm wondering if you can you remove the O2 sensor from the flange. Yes, I understand that even though it may be possible it may not be "doable". I'm hoping that i can buy a $25 universal and put it into the flange.

2nd Generation

I've looked at doing that before, but unless you want a whole crapload of cutting/grinding/welding to take-up your weekend, just buy a direct-fit.

Or, visit a scrap yard (or five) and try to get one there. I've been running two of my cars on scrap yard O2 sensors for a long time (years) and they're still fine--price I paid: $10 each.
