so i posted in the pics forum that i got my new springs... i was taking a closer look at them today and noticed this...
looks like there were scratches and dings in the springs that were just covered up with a different color orange paint by hand Should i be annoyed with this???
pretty crappy if you ask me... i called up the shop that i got the springs from, and they said they get the springs straight from ksport then send them out... they would not do anything like that
so i called up ksport and the guy said he would want to see pics before he could say anything... i e-mailed him and i am awaiting a response
I didn't tell them yet, that i am a part of this forum, and will probably influence the type of peoplethey want to purchase/not purchase these springs, since nobody else has seemed to try them yet and a lot of people have asked for reviews...
i understand a couple scratches coming in shipping - there are a few of those on all the springs adn that almost always sees to happen- but there are bigger ones which have been painted over to cover... and a different color orange at that!
that paint is alread bubbling up, and is just going to be an exposed area prone to rust... i just think a good product would be checked for obvios blemishes like that - even if they are springs which sit in the wheel well... i dont' care if they look crappy, i just don't want them to rust up in 6 months... am i wrong in being annoyed? is it really not that big of a deal?
don't be mad at them yet... i am still awaiting an e-mail back, but we shall see what is going on later... maybe if he tries to give me a crappy response, i will just let him know that he should care more about it...

I know there completely different springs but I had 1 mark on each of my Dropzone springs that look like the mark in the 1st pic you posted. They were in the same spot on each spring so I just figured thats how they were supposed to look.
Definitly keep us updated on this situation as I myself overlooked purchasing a set of Ksport springs cause no one had any prior experience with them.

those marks on the side look like they could be from packaging, but that last one where it's on the inside that's defiantly not pckaging, let us know what you hear, cause i was pretty anxious for this review, it woulfd have given me the okay to get a set!

Hope everything goes well. If in the future, you decide to go nutty and get JIC's, let me know. I'll help you out

the first one could easily be an accident, but the second one (the long ones that go along the circle) look almost as though the springs have been installed...

Well, crap. I just ordered the springs like an hour ago from my girlfriend's house without reading TN. Oh well, I'll let you know how mine arrive next week.
Dude when I got my H&Rs' there were marks simlar to that on mine. I wouldn't worry about it. They probally just were banging around while different people handled them.
yeah... it is not so much the marks and stuff that i care about... it is just the fact that somebody would paint over them by hand, if they are THAT bad
i am still decidiing on what to do with my suspension though...

hey man if you're not satisfied with 'em, I could always use some new suspension components ;-)... btw we still haven't met up yet, and you probably live a few blocks from me for all I know.

The marks on the insides (the ones touched up by hand) may be from hanging the spring to paint or powdercoat them. I don't think its anything to really worry about. Even if there is exposed metal, a little surface rust won't damage the spring.
I wouldnt worry too much. Stuff gets bumped when shipped all the time. The way both sets of my springs were shipped were in a box, with cardboard dividers. might of been the shipping to a sub storage area, didnt want to waste good springs and just covered it up a little. i would be more worried/anxious about the ride of them than the orange paint.
but Wraith said JIC Coilovers were crappy... we needs a list compiled of good and bad >.<
That's cuz he's an ass. (He's my daughter's godfather, so I can say that)
