4th Generation Plastic Clips

Hey guys

So ive been tearing apart my car on the inside. And as you all know clips and things break all the time, especially from repeated installation and removal. I was wondering if there was any place besides the stealerships i could order new ones at. I know for sure my rear deck speaker cover mat has one broken one and a few others on driver/passenger doors.

Also does anyone know what the plastic inserts are called for the front two speakers? They are the plastic inserts that go into the door where the screws for the speaker go into.

Thanks!

I don't know if anybody besides a dealer will have those specific clips, but most auto parts stores sell a line of generic ones in blister paks. You can try to find one that's roughly the same size. If you only need 1 or 2 then you might as well go to the dealer and bite the bullet. I don't think the OEM ones are more than $2 each.

As far as the plastic inserts for the 2 front speakers, I have had good luck just using the plastic part of wall anchors for things like that. Most people have a few of these already around the house.

Thanks man.

Yeah the clips are pretty costly...about 2 bucks a pop without tax. I just got more of em in case any other break etc.

And i guess for the speaker ones i can use the ones for the house as you've mentioned.

Thanks

Actually,

I just bought some from the dealership, and they beat the ONE price I found online (www.northlandfasterners.com).

I paid a total of $14 for the six "panel retainers" that I needed (four front door, two rear deck). I didn't think it was that bad. I haven't been able to find another retailer (autozone, checkers, etc...) that carries Toyota specific ones.

oh i see. I ended up buying eight so i can replace any random broken or worn out ones as i run accross them.

I also bought four screw type panel retainers...now that i think about it i think i should have gotten 6...but my total was almost 30 dollars. The screw type panel retainers are VERY costly. Even the parts guy told me it was a rip off but no one else really makes them. I'm just happy that they had them in stock.
