As long as you keep the bodywork in good shape (yearly rust check, without fail), keep up with the maintenance, and if you drive the car reasonably, it could very well outlast any of us. I'm shooting for 400,000km on my Camry by the end of this year (200km per night at work seven days per week, and it's already at 347,000km) and I actually have no doubt it will make it--as long as I use decent parts for it.

Honda my A$$, you just can't kill a Yota...
the 5sfe is by far one of the most reliable 4 banger engines from toyota. The new 2azfe still needs to prove itself (or outplay 5sfe), yes the 4 cylinder engines are much more smoother, but one reason i bought my car cus it has a 5sfe!

Yup yup...the 5SFE has been around since at least 1990 in the Celica GT and GTS. And the 3S has been around since the 80s.
If the 2AZ and the 1ZZ are anything like the 22RE, 20RE, A series, and/or S series inline fours, they will damn near last forever.
The only thing I wish for is a diesel Camry. Then the Camry will really last forever - the engine at least.
Now i dont know if my camry will last as long, mainly cause i drive like a dumbass. But after 32K its still running like the day i got it, and thats with minor maitenience.
Each weekend I take my Camry down the highway a couple hundred Kms.
because through the week it's all stop and go city driving and my thinking is that this will help to "clean out" a lot of the carbon build-up inside my engine. Am I correct on this or am I actually not helping the engine at all?
i love my camry and hope that it will never die, ha.
im more worried about the tranny going out than the engine, cause i think i tkae better care of the engine than the tranny.
and yeah, they will last! my uncle has a 1994 camry with the 5SFE, and it has about 450,000 miles on it, had new tranny put in at 275k though. but he takes really good care of the car and its been mostly highway driven, so i think thats why his has lasted so long.
