4th Generation rear lift kit

My wife's car has always sagged a little bit in the back, but not enough to really be noticeable. However, when you get a little stuff in the trunk, the sag becomes more pronounced. When you put two people in the back, it gets quite a bit lower.

This summer, my wife and I are going to take a week long trip. In addition to carrying ourselves and our gear, the Camry is going to be carrying my wife's parents and their gear. (Don't worry, we get along well!). So unless I figure out a way to get the back end up where it belongs, I think I'll be doing a lot of muffler knocking!

Is there a product out there that can be installed without a huge amount of fabrication for this car? I don't mind building things, but the less cutting and drilling I have to do on this car, the better I'll like it!

Well, autoparts stores do sell cheezy little lift/drop assemblies. They're really cheap, but they're also made very cheaply. The kit consists of four flat metal pieces which fit over the spring coils, and bolt together to reduce/increase the space between coils. They do work, but I wouldn't trust them with all that load in the car.

AyzhenInvasion is right...your only reasonable option is to replace the struts (and maybe the springs). Sorry...

^^ are u talkin about spring compressors ? or am i missing somethin here lol

radioF, springs shouldn't be TOO bad, depends on how many miles u have. i would go with struts. tokico (performance, stiff), KYB (almost stock)..

what are the KYBs called? gr2 ? something like that ? lol

if you are wanting to go the cheap route you can try spring spacers also. I am not a big fan of them but you pretty much jsut put them in between the coils on the springs and rotate them. they make the spring have more space between the coils. it can help slightly but they do tend to fall out and will most likely stiffen the ride up some since the spring cannot compress like normal. Like I said this is a cheap alternative but you should really look at non progressive springs like terrastrife said.
