My trunk install... and other albums.

this probably belongs in the A/V section but i'm including my other albums for the noobs that haven't been annoyed with them yet :P

my trunk install took some twists and turns during the whole process (which took awhile due to time and lazyness). it's just a simple and basic install of my two 12 inch Clarion DVC subs and two Clarion amps (400W 4-ch & 200W 2-ch).

Custom Trunk

and here's the rest of my albums. pretty basic stuff but useful for the budding DIY-er.

Indiglo Gauges

Head Unit

Rear Speakers

Levoc Shifter

Hail Damage

i have lots pics of when i polished my rims, installed my intake and alarm/starter but they're not fully in albums yet. next up... neon lights for the trunk, probably front component speakers in the spring and hopefully suspension in the summer.

peace

The trunk setup is awesome! If I had some nicer looking amps, I would definitely do something like that.

Fuckin' eh! I didn't checkout your trunk album earlier 'cause I thought it was the same. I didn't realize that you had all this planned

Considering you're not a"pro", it looks bomb-digidy. Actually, it looks better than alot than some of the so-called professional work I've seen.

I like how you took advantage of that "short-cut" by buying separate enclosures and adding a personal touch to it. Cheater

Once you add those lights...This'll be me -->

Keep the tunes bangin' and pics comin'!!

thanks for all the compliments everyone.

the trunk has been a "work-in-progress" over the past year. i've always had the plan in mind with the false floor but just didn't have the time and patience to do it all in one week. my main objective was to try and keep the trunk as functional as possible because i do alot of travelling between Edmonton & Calgary (3 hour drive) and also head to the Rockies for some 'boardin (so i needed the seats to fold down and have access to the hole). believe it or not... the spare is still accessible.

i thought about dropping the subs into the spare tire well, about creating custom fiberglass enclosures for the subs, and even about a motorized amp rack that came out of the floor. but after much deliberation... what you see was the cheapest, easiest and cleanest setup that i could come up with.

i basically bought 3 sheets of wood, 2 lengths of 1x3, 1 length of 1x4, a sheet of plexi, auto carpet, and various screws/nuts/bolts. everything came from Home Depot except for the carpet which was from End Of The Roll. all in all... the parts (minus the stereo equip and enclosures) probably came out to $150 with lots left over.

i'll post more pics when i get the blue neons (or LED's) in.

the shifter is from Levoc. it's for automatics and has the overdrive button on it. i bought it from an auto store in Richmond, BC but i'm sure you can find it on the net as well. just google it and you'll find some sites.

SBC used to have it on his car before he went manual. Shawn has a white one on his show car (which i believe he recently sold). i'm sure there's others flossin' the Levoc too but those are but a few that come to mind.
