Putting a 7mge afm on a 3sfe

Today i was at the local auto wrecker and decided that i'd see if the 7mge afm would fit on the 3sfe. Other than the inlet to the afm being a bit bigger there doesn't seem to be any difference in the plug or the connector for the afm. The 7mge afm plugged right into the 3sfe connector w/o a hitch. I didn't buy it though because i was wondering if i was to use the 7mge afm if it would throw up a check engine light in my camry. I'm also wondering if i will be able to gain any power from the 7mge afm because of its larger size. I have a cold air intake presently fitted to my 3sfe so it will be able to accomodate the larger afm if it will work. Thanks for your advice and help.

Nick

The afms are physically exactly the same size other than the inlets and outlets being bigger because the 7m is a whole liter bigger than the 3s. I've heard that the 82 supra afm is compatible w/ the 22re so i wanted to know if the 7m afm would be similar in respect to the 3sfe. The plugs looked identical.
