Canada HELP!!!: Dash Disassembly/Assembly in the GTA

brought my car to the dealer today to get a new radio installed.
it was done in two hours and i was frustrated with the time they gave
me already. when i got in the car, i noticed that there was a gap that was larger than before between the dash and the plastic mount. i asked the tech to come check it out and he insisted that it was "normal" despite a gap in between where you can see whatever was behind the plastic cover mount. in any case, i came home thinking i could probably re-adjust it myself with the help of terrynham's older post which had the following images along with instructions:

i am not sure what i did wrong....but mine is stuck now and i don't want to mess with it anymore in case i crack anything.

any ideas? or anyone in the GTA who can help please....

Wait till it warms up more, and then try pulling it out and readjusting.

Give me a shout in the spring. It's too cold now to risk craking something.

Try sticking it back in... from the looks of it, you started popping it out from the wrong side. You're supposed to start from the bottom, and it looks like you started from the top. If you can get it back into place, start again from the bottom.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
