My 2006 Camry LE's dome light does not come on when I shutoff the car and remove my key from the ignition, is this the way it's supposed to work?
The car(s) I had before would light the dome light, for about 15 seconds, when the key was removed.
Anyone know whats up with that?

My '03 Camry SE's domelight lights up as soon as the engine is shut off.

I don't think it comes on until you open the door.

Yeah, mine doesn't come on unless the door is open.

i think mine used to light up when engine shuts off, but it dont come on any more. or maybe i remembered wrong

Mine does that, but i have turned it off, so maybe thats a smiple solution that was over looked. Make sure its not on OFF

At the risk of sounding stupid, how do you turn it off, or on for that matter?

Umm their is a sliding thing right next to the dome light that can turn it from on/off/door. If it lights up when you are opening the door then it is set on door.

^No, thats not what he meant. He meant how to turn on/off the feature where when you remove the key, the dome light turns on.
