it's a '94, and Im on budget but i still want my little i4 to have some balls. I cant afford a turbo, but for the most part im down with any other parts. THis is gonna sound very "noobish" and trust me, i am a noob, but could you guys recomend so parts? thanks
Save your money, get a better "faster" car. Camrys are extremely expensive to make "fast". So, if you love your camry, then go for it. If you can wait a while, get a car that is faster. Eitherway, make sure it makes you happy.

alright, so ive been seriously debating a auto-5spd swap, but ive also thought about putting the mz1 in. im really leaning towards the 5spd. whats involved, besides the new tranny, has anyone done it and can give me a brief overview of what id be in for
Do the auto to manual swap then the 3sgte But as you said money is your problem. You can't do shit without the money, a lot of MONEY. People with plans don't realize this until they're knee deep in shit
mostly i care about the 5spd, i'm gonna focus on that for now. How much overall is that gonna run me, what will i need, and i'm pretty handy as far as cars, can i do it myself? oh and thanks guys so far your helping alot, im fairly new at the camry scene
if you haven't done anything to your car yet, look for a V6 manual and trade your car.
With the amount of $ and time lost while your car is getting that manual tran converted, including working out the kinks, you can buy a turbo and still be ahead. Even if you don't go turbo, suspension work, wheels and tires aren't cheap. All the stuff you are going to do anyways.
It kind of sounds weird to buy a working automatic 4 cylinder and tear it apart.
Yeah the Manual idea is fun. My camry is auto and my civic is manual. When I go out to fuck around in the canyons, the manual is more fun. Specially doing some HEEL TOE action. haha.
Anyways, let us know how it goes. Get a nice clutch and flywheel while you're doing the swap. Might as well because you'll have the tranny opened up anyways. The tranny and all the gear that you need should set you back between $500-$700 not including the aftermarket clutch and flywheel and labor costs... but then again, I could be wrong.
Just make sure that you love what you DRIVE!

Prices can be found on various stores online. Read the FAQ to what you will need.
A V6 conversion is relatively cheap, since the Camry has it standard. Also, as stated previously, try a 5 speed conversion. V6 - 5spd = best standard setup for Camry. Anything more, and youd have to go built na/turbo/nos/sc wateva.
