check for blown fuses, and recheck the wiring to your cd player(assuming it is aftermarket)

2nd Generation

it happens when I reach 2k rpm's and anything lower you can see the cd player dim and the same with gauges i installed too. everything dims when I brake? Is that something to do with the alternator?

I doubt its the alternator (although that is easy to check with a multitester - try autozone if you do not have one).

My guess - your wiring. I would check the ground - did you ground directly to metal, or to an existing wire that you believed to be a ground? I would ground directly to metal.

What did you usee for power (+12v)? An existing wire, or the battery? I would (at least temporarily) hook the CD player and gauges directly to the battery, and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, relocate your positive lead for the lights and stereo.

I would guess you have a marginal alternator. When you hit the brakes you are also turning on the brake lights and at the same time the alternator is turning very slowly (idle speed). Check the output of your alternator with a DVM. Even at idle it should be above 14 volts.

2nd Generation help

I went to AutoZone and they checked my alt and battery and all is good. Today I started it ut and it ran for 2 seconds then EVERYTHING shut off. Had to wait 10min before it started again. The problem now, is that if I try to start it right after its been running, it wont start, the car has to wait.
