2nd Generation rim weight VS preformance??

would having rims that are 50lbs a piece (200lbs total worth of rim) on a 91 camry affect preformance a drastic amount, I think they would. Gas mileage would go down and its hard on brakes as well, isn't it? I paid $1,100 for my 17" verde diamonds with tires. Someone is offering me $475 cash plus pickup, If I can negotiate $525, should I sell them and get some ADR SV1 17's ?? (Black with polished lip) OR is the deal a total ripoff and would I be better off keeping them?? In other words is the preformance drawback worth selling them and cutting my losses and starting over or just keeping them???

well how much do the ADR's weigh because if its not that much of a difference then dont do it, but if they are really light and you want to go faster then yea go for it, and of course which ones look better? pics please

Do play baseball? Can you imagine trying to swing a 60oz. bat when you are used to a 34? How do you think that would affect performance?

That much unsprung weight stresses EVERYTHING it's attached to. Brakes, axles, bearings, CV Joints, tie rods, suspension components - they'll all wear out much faster, possibly to the point of risking catastrophic failure without warning. Imagine the stress created if you're tooling down the highway and have to stop suddenly (for whatever reason), and have, let's say, a worn wheel bearing...

If you are looking for performance in a car, you go lighter - of course that almost always means going smaller, too. Your choice to make.

Your stock rims look pretty nice but those ADR ones look sick dude. I got 17 and i think the tires weight like 17 lbs and the tires are like 15 lbs so thats 32 lbs. Ive never had any problems. Their ADR Victory rims. If its not much more, id go with adr but 50 lbs isnt that much weight if your crusin but if you want performance go adr.
