3rd Generation keyless entry /remote start help please

hey guys i got a remote start for may car. it took a while but i got it installed
anyway it has a bunch of cool features. example: remote trunk pop. but i was unable to hook this feature up. can anyone tell me how. They installation diagram says to hook the wire to the (-) trunk trigger. The wire diagram says that wire is the red/wht wire in the trunk behind the light. so i did that and nothing happened. on a closer look i see that that wire is for the damn light in the trunk and has nothing to do with the trunk pop. can anyone help me hook this up? do i need a relay? The alarm system is a crimestopper 2011 iv if you need to know. thanks in advance.

youll need a solenoid to open the trunk i think cause gen 3 camrys have a latch type trunk and not a push button.

i tried to get mine installed and that was what moon shadow told me. it can be done, itll just be more costly.
