E-brake light has a mind of it's own.

Ik, lately when it's cold, when ever I slow down and stop, the ebrake light pops on. For a while, I could just start going again and it would shut off. Then last night I would have to tap the brake when I started going to shut it off. Then after about 10 minutes of that, it just stays on. Now this seems to only happen when's it's cold (-25F last night). So what's the deal?

mine just starting doing that yesterday. Word up to MN! Must be the frigid temps, it was -10, -15F down here in MPLS. I'm also getting a lot of suspension noise now too. Of course i went through the car wash last night so that probably didn't help! You should have seen the whirlwind where the 3 hot air blowers were mixing with the -15F outdoor air at the exit.

Might be low brake fluid.

^could probably just check it.

My suspension was actaully quieter. Then again, my struts need replaceing, so maybe the cold helped them. Driving with a clutch and tranny that barely move is fun though.

If the brake fluid isn't low then get the front pads checked.
But yes, check the fluid level.

Yeah...definatly low fluid. Topped my fluid off and the light went away. Keep in mind...when the pads get more and more worn, it takes more fluid to push the piston down on the brakes. So when you change the pads next, remember that you put more fluid in or else it'll come pouring out of the top.

So why would it only do it when it's cold. I just drove my car and it didn't do it, and it's about 25F now?

Hey guys I have the same issue, and it is the brake fluid level, if you fill it to full, the light will not come on while braking/stopping. My resivoir leaks, so I have to deal with this about 5 times per month.
