2nd gen Caster Adjusters (where can I get them???)
Hey guys,
Do any of you guys know where I can get caster spacers or adjusters. My caster is off and I need them so my car will stop veering to the right. Thanks,
Matt
Your caster is that different between the two sides of your car? It has to be pretty far off to make a difference in the steering. You probably have a bent component if your caster is off (or you have the whiteline front swaybar). If you have the whiteline swaybar, you just have to put washers on there (the shop I went to just had them in stock) to get the caster even and right. If you don't have the whiteline bar, replace the messed up compnont.

i think my frame is bent. I just need to know where to get caster spacers so i can adjust my caster that is 2 degrees off!!! I will eventually fix the frame but the pull to the right is annoying as hell...
Thanks,
Matt
I don't think there is enough space on the stock swaybar shaft to adjust for 2 degrees of caster... I could be wrong though. Its also quite a pain to get them on there because you have to remove the bar.
How did your frame get bent?

white90dx when you installed youtr whitline bars, how much did the caster have to be corrected? I am looking at polyurethene bushings and have the option for caster adusting. I am not sure which way makes the most sense. Thanks.
I actually don't know. I forgot to ask. I had the bar installed, and the shop forgot to install the spacers. The centerline of the wheel had moved so far forward that I was scraping the front of the wheel well covers on hard corners :o I went back, and they got the caster back to stock spec, I assume... So, you will need to have spacers put on there.
If you go with the whiteline bar, it makes more sense to do the caster adjusting with the bar. You'll have more flexibility in setting it. And you'll still get polyurathane bushings with the new bar. Be careful though, I bet a lot of the bushings in your lower control are will be worn out - just be prepared for extra expenses... :-?

I already put new bushings in my lower control arm....Do the spacers come with the sway bar? If not where can i get spacers or the bushings that can adjust the caster? thanks,
Matt
My swaybar came with 3 washers... not enough. My shop just had the washers laying around and didn't charge me for them, so I don't know where else to get them. But you can always go to a hardware store with the ones that come with the bar to match them. The hard part then will just be getting the caster right.

thanks Charlie...I might just have my frame fixed if it is bent... I think it will be around 300 bucks or something. Thats what my mechanic told my dad...but getting a sway bar with the washers to fix my caster is a temporary solution. Thanks again dudes,
Matt
