Greddy Evo 2 Catback for '99 I4

Like it says. Any one know if the Greddy Evo 2 catback exhuast swap will work with a Gen 4 1999 Camry with the I4. Its listed as only for the V6 but since the TRD fits both with out problems I'm hoping that the Greddy will to. I'm looking at either this or from my other post the TRD muffler. I like the idea of the catback for a bit more money if it will sound as good or better and free up more power. Will it be bolt off / bolt on or will I need to take it to a shop and have it welded since I do not know how to nor do I have the tools to do so. Thanks in advance. AS many people replying as soon as possible will help I am going to try to order tonight.

I don't have a Camry but I do have a 99 i4 Solara and the exhaust does bolt right up to the stock. Others have said that the o2 sensor on the pipe might need to be plugged up but that is only on the 01-03 Solara's.

Assuming that since the Solara is a Camry anyway, it should fit and regardless if its a V6 or i4 shouldn't make a difference on the exhaust fitting.

The sound & performance of the Greddy EVO II, you will not be disappointed in getting it after you have it on your car. It should only cost $40 - $50 bucks for the shop to install if you don't have the tools at home.

Hope this info is helpful to you.

Good Luck.

^'01-'03 Solaras!? Uh... the 1st Gen is 99-01, and the Gen 1.5 is '02-'03. So which is it?

Any one else?? Not entirely convinved at this point. Kinda seems sketchy. I would hate myself to order a $600 exhuast swap and not have it fit. And my lovely state just did away with emissions so it could have all the holes in it that it can take and still hang on. It just can't be getting me loudness tickets from the lovely police. Is it a deep power sound or ricey annoying sound? Seem to free up much power?? For half the price in the TRD muffler I can get a sure fit and a great sound with a little power up. How is it durability wise, don't want it rusting out in like 9 months or something. What did it involve for you to get it on? do you need a full on lift or does ramps and jacks do it safely? All the more info the more appriciated. Thanks all!!

Theamazing nate has on on his Gen 3 camry 5SFE.... I was going to get one for my Gen 4 before I had engine troubles. The v6 and the I4 is pretty much the exact same from the cat back.

You might have to have them relocate the hangers, but I doubt it. That exhaust will also fit on the solaras...the new solaras will need some modifaction, but not alot. I would not have any worries about it not fitting. In fact check on the FOR SALE fourm, that same system shows up from time to time.....for about 200-400 dollars cheaper.
The sound is a nice low tone, does not sound ricy....what makes it sound ricy, is when those people remove the resonator.

As for power...you will get some more HP from a cat back...as to be suspected. The whole system is stainless steel, so rusting should not even be on your mind.....the only rusting you MIGHT see is from the bolts...but I would not worry about it

As for having it installed.....just take it to your local shop and have it installed fairly cheap....or if you want, put it on ramps and do it yourself....the point about the hangers, if you did it yourself, you might have to relocate some hangers....but I doubt it.

I hope this helps you out a little.

A cat-back alone will never free up more than 1 or 2 hp, you need a header and high-flow cat to get more than that. Do they even make headers for our cars? (4cyl)

^^^^Yes... Call up RIPP mods and see if they have any left in stock... They were going to discontinue that line due to lack of support. Also, if I don't get the engine fixed on my car, I will have mine up for sale I have a 97 I4

Finally finished ordering my Injen SRI and TRd muffler a little bit ago. I went with Injen because I don't want to have to wait for TRP to make their CAI's available for another 2 months. And I definely won't be doing catbacks or headers or anything because the cost and time is not worth the minimal power. I'll stick with the TRD muffler for sound and looks at half the cost.
