New Certificate of Insurance has Wrong Vin

I opened my New certificate of insurance toaday, just to find out that they had the wrong vin listed.

None of the letters/numbers are the same.

My car's vin starts with J identifying it as japanese manufacture

while the new CoI the vin starts with 4T Meaning it is US built

all of the old certificates correctly list the correct vin

I havent changed insurance companies

I just thought this was wierd and decided to post, I am wonndering if anyone else has run into this problem?

I havent ever had that problem but you need to make sure you get it taken care of ASAP. If you were to be in an accident and they look at the COI and determine that the VIN does not match then they could get you for not having proof of insurance. Even if you were to get pulled over if they wanted to check the VIN against the car or the registration they could get you for not having proof. THis has happened to me once because I had the COI for my van in my car and the one for my car in my van. Unfortunately Allstate sends one for each car so we have to make sure we have hte right one in the right car.
