Use Dexron II/III ATF.

^ Yes, I'm positive that the diff uses ATF.

Don't believe me? Drain the diff and see for yourself.

Just a bit of advice. Don't remove the diff drain plug until you first remove the filler plug. Then, if you can't get the fill off you are not stuck.

i got a 98 V6... sounds stupid but, it took me a LONG time to fill it because there was just no room. I tried a funnel, funnel with a tube, etc etc. What is your trick?

I would think you warm up the atf bottle with hot water so the atf is thinner. Then use a long a$$ tube and do it that way. might have to pop a breather hole in the bottle.. How do you know how much to put in though???

thanks

^ Your tranny takes around 1 1/2 quarts.

You'll know when its full. Fluid will drip out of the fill hole or backup into the tube, if your using a tube.

I use a funnel with a long clear tube.

Make sure the car is level when you fill the diff, otherwise it won't fill up correctly.

I like to use the Mobil1 synthetic Dexron III ATF in the differential since it's a closed system.
