Read the turbo sticky, clarify something please.

Greetings!

I am a long time reader of the website, Im just now thinking of acting on a turbo for my 5sfe. I have read the sticky and have most of my parts squared away for a low boost setup.

Now I read the part about the automatic tranny, and they are saying if its older, itll go boom pretty much, lol. The car is just now nearing 70,000 miles. Is it worth it for me to go ahead and put the turbo in it ?

I have so far planned to get a cooler for it, and make sure it has all new fluids in it. If its not safe, oh well. I guess I will have to go with that CAI that Redline is putting out.

Thank in Advane!

I think you'll be fine. Im turbo'ing my auto in the next few weeks. Im just using a tranny cooler on it and making sure i dont abuse the shit out of it. Depending on how the tranny reacts, I will be doing a 5speed swap over summer.

aslong as your tranny is in decnet condition, low boost wont hurt it that much.
