Camry Side View Mirror Replacement Instruction

Hi
I'm new to this forum. THis forum is doing great job. I need some help with fixing the side view mirror

My 97 Camry LE's side view mirror was dammaged in a collision. The mirro is intact and the motor is working except that the mirror is hanging by its wire though.
How do I take it apart and put it back? Do I have to glue'em back in. Appreciate if somebody help me with soem kind of instructions

Thanks

I bought another working mirror from a salvage yard. If you have a power window you will need to pull the door panel to get to the wires. Pop off the black triangle with a taped screwdriver, careful not to scratch pint. there are 3-screws that attach the mirror to the door.

After you remove the mirror bracket there are 3-screws under the gasket that takes the whole assy out. If you have power mirror, there are 3-small screws under the mirror.

I am still trying to figure out how to snap the mirror to the motor assy after i moved all the guts to the old mirror door bracket.

I was able to work the wires out without removing the inner panel. Connectors didn't match so I replaced them with some from R/S. (I just replaced mine as well. But if the housing isn't broken you may be able to put it back together.)

Is the mirror hanging out of the plastic housing or the whole housing off the door?

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but did you figure out how to snap the mirror glass to the motor assembly? I was a victim of vandalism and the bastards ripped off the mirror glass from my side mirrors in my 93 Camry. I ordered mirror glasses from the dealer and tried snapping one in but it's not, "snapping." The top will hook up, but no snap on the bottom. Let me know if there was a solution.

Don't know how similar your 97 Camry is to a 2007 but www.camrystuff.com has free and printable instructions for the 2007 mirror. Twentyfour pages, 1.2 MB.

Don't know if camrystuff covers other years.

Just noticed so will edit in: this site has an ad for www.automirorglassonly.com. Maybe they have some instructions in addition to presumably selling glass.

Bob
