3rd Generation Electric Truck popper?

Ok, I am looking at installing an alarm, and most of them come with trunk poppers. I unfortunatly don't have one (did any gen3/3.5 have electric poppers). I was wondering if anybody had mounted a solenoid in there trunk to turn they're manual cable operated popper into an electric one? I won't think it could be that hard. What you guys think?

Funny you should mention that. No, they never came on the Gen 3. I'm looking at a new alarm system for MY Gen 3 and was planning to get one with a remote trunk release, WITH the part that makes the trunk pop open. There are some with that that I've found.

Like the alarm comes with the stuff to convert to electric? All I've seen just have it so you can hook up to a factory switch...

I added a selenoid to the rear trunck release. I do have a problem on hot days though, the trunk lid becomes hot causing the selenoid to become hot and not pop fully. When it cools down it opens up fine. I'm just to lazy to get around to it right now. I just have to wrap it in some insulation and it should be fine.

I didn't convert it totaly to an electirc open. I still have the manual lever inside. I mainly use the electric pop for outside the car. I have it I have a kid and my hands are always full holding on to him and all his stuff.

Check this site out.

You can e-mail them and they could probably give you more assistance.

Ohhh, TRUNK popper. I was wondering what a truck popper was.
Anyway, sounds like a cool idea on a gen3. If I find one with electric start I might just buy it... just need money.
