Might have solved problem, found another.

My original post was "brake light warning icon" I would get the warning on my dash. Sometimes all the brake lights worked while the warning was showing bad brakes, but sometimes the left side brake light was actually out. I would open then trunk and kind of knock it lightly behind the left brake light and the brake light would light up, and when I turn the car off and back on the warning on the dash disappears. Anyway I think I found the problem...I pulled the brake light out and the light bulb all the way to the right was burned/melted...replaced it...hopefully that solved that problem. Another problem I discovered today is when you open the passenger doors, the OPEN DOOR sign doesn't come up on the dash and you don't hear the annoying OPEN DOOR chime. But when you open the driver side doors, you see the open door sign and hear the open door sound. Checked the fuses under the dash and they all look good...haven't checked the relay fuses under the hood yet...any suggestions?

you need to lubricate the door switch on the passenger side- and also, I don't think the passenger side has a door chime, just the light, and hte dome light

and the door switch should be a black plastic rubber covering, and there's a switch under it that the door hits when closed- look around- it's on the door frame of the car

But shouldn't it show the open doors sign on the dash? I mean when the doors are open on the passenger side the dome light doesn't light up, the icon on the dash doesn't show, and the red light on the door doesn't light up as well.

^ well, as said...it's because the switch is stuck, so it doesn't know that the door is open....find it, shoot it up with some wd40, and it'll work fine

it's because the switch is stuck "in" as though a door is still pushing it inwards

Ohhh alright, that makes sense. I'll check on the door switch tonight after work.
Thanks.

If I remember correctly, it prys off from the bottom. Try pulling down and out. Should be a 10mm bolt to remove and then you can pull sw clear of door to brush and clean back of sw.

It's exactly as Dave's described. Pull the rubber cover up from the bottom. This exposes a 10MM headed bolt you need to unscrew. Pull the switch out a few inches from the door but don't remove the wiring. It can easily drop inside the door requiring disassembly of the door to regain access to it. Clean up any rust on the wiring and spring on the backside with a wire brush or some sand paper. Also clean any rust off the bolt. It acts to ground the circuit to the car. Apply dielectric grease to everything you just cleaned up to prevent the rust from reocurring. Then spray the front of the button with the WD40 and reattach everything.
