Problem with door locks

I have an unusual problem with the door locks on my 1996 Camry. When I start the car, the door locks make noise like they are trying to lock. They make 2 or three loud clicks but never actually lock. If the doors are already locked when the car is started, the doors will unlock immediately. This model isn't supposed to lock automatically when starting the car like the newer models do. Does anyone knowwhat might be causing this?

yes it does. mine always locks when i turn over the engine, i have no clue what you're talking about. you turn it on and then the locks turn unless you have your door open and it unlocks. check your fuse maybe, might be out of place

Have you installed an aftermarket alarm or lock/unlock system? If so, it's sounds like something aftermarket has been added to the car and is not working properly.
