Made a diagnosis of my engine...

Hi
Yeasterday i have made a diagnosis of my engine. I've put a jumper wire and connected the terminals TE1 and E1 of the DLC 1 (Data Link Connector) then I turned the Key on "ON". Then the MIL (CHECK ENGINE) has begun to flash. (It flashed 1_1111) = code 14. What dose this code mean? (Is it something whit the Ignition?) please Help me.... (the engine is runing good but I think that the engine is not so powerfull that it was for example 1 year ago.... HELP

I believe it is "no spark" (code 14). I will look it up by tomorrow and repost if I am wrong.

the connector is under on the left side of the engine (a little black box) but you have a 1MZ-FE engine? than you have a OBD II connector under the steeringweel, next to the fusebox. But if the 1MZ-FE engine has a DLC tan you must connect the terminals TE1 and E1... I have the list on my PC if you want...

You can download the repair manual. It's a sticky on the front page of the camry forum. It's under EG2 page 400. This is for OBD II. IT will show you where everything is located.

You can't jumper anything on that car to pull the codes.

All 1MZ-FEs are OBD-II, so you need a scanner to pull the codes.
